  • Cyclone Cowl Pattern

    $5.50

A one-ball project designed specifically for our oversized Shaniko Superwash Worsted gradient yarn. This is a fun project that wonderfully shows off all the lovely qualities of this yarn, the slow-changing gradient, the plumpness and softness of the yarn, the stitch definition as well as the extended yardage.

The cowl is worked in an easy-to-manage repeating brioche stitch, with increases along one edge and tubular selvedges to mimic the wide wale brioche stitch. Once you’ve worked all but the last few feet of yarn, bind off, sew one short seam and you’ll have a reversible cowl that you’ll be looking for excuses to wear everywhere!

The cowl is a high-collared neckerchief shape that can be styled a myriad of ways to suit your mood or the weather. The cowl begins narrower at the neck and widens in height and width to cover your shoulders. We bet you can’t make just one!

    Shown in Cloud and Chaparral.

  • Oscilla Hat and Cowl Pattern

    $5.50

Oscilla has a rhythmic slip stitch repeat which is like a slow wave or oscillation as you work along each round. This is an easy to follow pattern, using only one yarn at a time. Slip stitch (also known as Mosaic Knitting) is when you only work certain stitches on each row or round with your first color, then with your second color, work the slipped stitches on the following round. This create a fairisle look without having to worry about tension issues, and creates a warm and lofty piece. This is suitable for any advanced beginner and up, involving knits, purls and slip stitches with K2tog and Central Double Decreases (explained in pattern).
