Our Shaniko Superwash takes softness and functionality to the next level. This yarn is an ethically raised and minimally processed US wool sourced entirely from sheep raised in Great Basin region of the US West by family ranches that have been raising sheep and taking care of the land for generations, satisfying my requirement of working with yarn offering a more positive impact. By supporting a yarn created with tight standards (traceability, land and animal husbandry audits) it raises the bar for other manufacturers to do the same. To top that, it’s 100% merino and frankly, ridiculously soft.

SUPERWASH SHANIKO MERINO FINGERING (SOLEMATE SOCKS)
My introduction to Shaniko Merino Superwash came initially via the Fingering weight as I was on a mission to find a truly special sock weight yarn. I wanted a soft but strong yarn, ethically and domestically produced, and for ease of care it had to be a superwash. Being machine washable, this yarn is perfect for baby garments, but it really shines in our new SoleMate Sock sets.
