  • Asali Sock Pattern

    $5.50

The Asali socks are worked using contrasting colors to enhance the raised honeycomb pattern. In this case the pattern is worked from each end of the same ball of our gradient yarn in the Sobek colorway, a high contrast gradient from one end to the other. Only one color is worked on each round. Some other colors we like for this are Artist’s Palette, Aurora, Chinook, Coho, Ember, Salvia, Vertigo

The yarn is worked from both ends of the same ball. The color for the rib, honeycomb pattern and toes is the MC, the background color is the CC.

Instructions are included to widen the Honeycomb pattern for calf as needed.

  • Hyperion Sock Pattern (Toe Up) by Jeny Staiman

    $7.50

Hyperion is a close relative of Polar Arc, a sock construction that is worked entirely in the round yet still has a lovingly contoured fit even for high arches.

Hyperion is not worked with striping yarn, although its design is inspired by it. This pattern uses a color map system that anchors the striping design at the heel and instep. This stripe placement on this unique sock construction evokes a feeling of concentric circles, so Jeny named the pattern after one of Saturn’s moons.

The pictured pair of socks is made with a gradient sock set (two matching 50g skeins). Each sock starts at the toe using both ends of the ball, and as you work your way up the leg the colors slowly converge. Jeny added extra height to the cuff on this pair to use up more of the gradient. This is an easy modification to make on the fly.

  • Polar Arc Sock Pattern (Cuff Down) by Jeny Staiman

    $7.50

Polar Arc is engineered specifically for gradient and self striping yarns. The structure exploits the properties of fabric worked on the bias and reinforced heel stitch to create a heel without a heel turn. Unlike with other sock patterns, you don’t get a break in hue or pattern across the instep because he heel is completely integrated with the body of the sock.

The denim stripe sock is worked top down. The toe-up pattern used for the Melon stripe is sold separately. Having both versions allows you to pick your favorite sock knitting method to create virtually identical socks whichever direction you go!

This pattern is structurally identical to the toe-up version with one small exception: at the very end of the arch, just before the toe, this pattern includes an additional 3(3, 5, 7) rounds of shaping. If a precise match with toe up is desired, simply skip these rounds and go directly to working the toe.

  • Singularity Sock Pattern by Jeny Staiman

    $7.50

Singularity is engineered to yield a perfect unbroken gradient along the length of the entire sock. The unique heel structure is worked in the round along with the sock body, allowing a single working strand to flow continuously from toe to cuff. It celebrates gradual color change in all its beauty and glory. No matter where you transition from foot to heel to leg, the resulting sock perfectly reflects the color’s journey.

Because of the unusual construction, the sock feels quite snug while pulling it over the ankle. Once on, it fits beautifully and snugly.
