Introducing Tewksbury Hill Farm Yarn.

After I moved the business from California to Massachusetts, Erica became one of my first local employees. She had little experience around yarn but was keen to learn, conscientious, listened well and matched our values. She was with us for a year before, ironically, her beaux swept her off to California. They lived in the Sierra Foothills, out in the woods. In search of grounding she decided to build herself a little farmstead, bringing in 9 Delaine merino sheep. Travel forward 3 years and she, along with husband, child, and the 9 sheep, are back in the Northeast, just over the hill from the studio.

She stopped by and showed me her yarn that she grew from these lovely sheep and it was instant love. It’s soft, lofty and squishy and has a hint of lanolin. It’s a balanced 2-ply DK that comes in 2oz hanks of 180 yards. It is undyed, and available in 4 shades – Cream, Oatmeal, Taupe and Hearthstone. Though they appear quite close in color, the two lighter shades and two darker ones do have some subtle differences.

Tewksbury Hill Farm Yarn is exclusively available from Freia Yarns. We currently have available to us the shear from the last two years. The available amount you see in our shop is what is ready to go. If we sell out of a color in our shop there will be more on the way, it may just need to be wound and labelled, so if you pick a color that is showing as backordered, go ahead and put in your order, but please allow a couple of extra days for Erica to bring it down from the mountain.

If you want to try it out before committing to full skeins we also have mini skein bundles with approx 30 yards of each color.
