Yarn Bundle for Lucy Neatby’s heirloom quality double knit Flower Power Blanket
CONTAINS:
8 Freia Fingering Shawl Balls in: Dirty Hippie (x2), and one each of Blue Velvet, Jaipur, Valentine, Ice Queen, Dahlia and Lichen.
Note that pattern calls for approximately 600g of Fingering yarn however Lucy used partial to full ball of the above colors. If you want to approximate the original these are the colors used. Enjoy a 5% discount when purchased as a bundle.

PROJECT DETAILS:
From master designer and double knitting queen Lucy Neatby, here is The Flower Power Blanket, a double knit (reversible) blanket that is ideal for advanced knitters looking for a challenging but rewarding project. Finished blanket as shown used about 600g/ 2600 yards of fingering yarn. Pattern includes 14 video links to give you full technical support as you work. You will start the project on double pointed needles but eventually, as it grows, graduate to 5 sets of longer circular needles (48-60″).

Middle-out, square blankets have a lot to recommend them!
• There is no need to commit to a width at the start.
• You can keep knitting for as long as you wish or until it becomes cumbersome or you run out of yarn.
• Working in the round also avoids the challenges of keeping the edges neat and reading chart rows to and fro.
• Colors are equally shared out on all sides, there is no need to save some to ‘balance’ the other end. Calculations of yarn usage are also much easier with a square blanket.

SIZE: 42” square (47″ blocked). Use the row gauge from your swatch to determine the approximate size of your blanket.

GAUGE: Aim for a squishy, soft fabric that gives sufficient coverage of the Far layer color.
Begin the blanket with a needle size at least one increment smaller than your gauge swatch as the first few rounds tend to stretch a little.
After the first few rounds, switch up to your gauge size needles.
The measurements and quantities given are based on an approximate gauge of 6 stitch pairs x 9 rows per inch, measured over double-layer Stocking stitch fabric (using 3.5 mm/ US4).
